Car accident claims life of Virginia pedestrian

In Virginia, serious injury can occur when drivers don't follow the rules of the road. Car accidents can lead to severe injuries and even death for other drivers and pedestrians. When there is a car accident, there are issues that crop up such as medical expenses, hospital bills, liability and compensation. In the worst-case scenario, there are even fatalities.

A 59-year-old woman who had recently recovered from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident six months earlier was on her first walk to the store since her serious injury. As she crossed the street, she had the right of way with a green "walk" signal. A 24-year-old female driving a 2007 Jeep Wrangler turned the corner and crashed into her. The woman died at the hospital the following morning. The driver was charged with driving recklessly and for failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Whether there is an accident involving significant injuries that result in lost income, a diminished capacity to live normally, require medical care, rehabilitation or a fatality, the victim or the family has a right to seek compensation due to the recklessness of the other party. If the injured person or persons survive a car accident, the serious injury that results could lead to hefty expenses to adjust and care for the individual.

In this case, the unfortunate woman was killed. That doesn't diminish the family's ability or rights to seek compensation for the accident. It would be advisable for the family to consider discussing their options to recover damages for losing their loved one and whether filing a wrongful death suit would be their best option

Dealing with the loss of a loved one is often a difficult time. The emotional and mental paint they are dealing with are often heightened when they are also dealing with financial burdens related to the accident. Filing for compensation could alleviate this hardship.
