I have over twenty-five years' experience in financial, tax, civil, criminal investigation and litigation. Most attorneys are legally trained, but they are not trained in investigations. Not only am an attorney, but I possess unique investigative skills that are valuable and necessary to the successful practice of law. My investigative background, as a Special Agent of the FBI, together with my legal education and experience gives you the edge in any legal matter. You will benefit from my unique experience and training.

In addition, my first-hand experience with different federal and state agencies is a huge advantage in my private practice, enabling me to thoroughly understand cases from the perspectives of both the government and the private citizen.
I am a member and Chair of the Tax Section and the Business Law Section of the Fairfax Bar Association. I recently made a presentation to the Family Law Section on Taxes and Divorce. The most stressful situations include taxes, divorce and death.

Tax Experience:

During my experience in the Office of Chief Counsel - IRS, I litigated civil and criminal tax cases; advised civil and criminal IRS agents and divisions on legal matters and investigations; I advised the US Department of Justice in civil and criminal tax matters and investigations; I worked with U.S. Department of Justice on criminal tax grand jury investigations; I worked and litigated international tax matters; I worked in gathering information from foreign countries utilizing Tax Treaties and Tax Information Exchange Agreements; I managed foreign litigation in Caribbean countries; I was an instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center on financial fraud and foreign information gathering; I conducted numerous educational tax courses for IRS civil and criminal agents; and I made numerous presentations on financial fraud and foreign information gathering to international tax forums.

In private practice I assist businesses and individuals in tax matters. From litigation to handling collection matters, I know my knowledge and experience as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel - IRS give me a slight advantage when representing clients before the IRS or the Virginia Department of Tax.
